ASTD-Lincoln TV Needs Your Help
ASTD-Lincoln is looking for volunteers interested in being in Show Business!
Training NOW! The ASTD-Lincoln television show is recruiting volunteers to help produce our monthly TV show. If you are interested in filling a position or just coming to see what it is all about, contact Michael Merritt at mmerritt@astdlincoln.org.
Below is a description of who we are looking for to help us create our show.
The Glue That Holds It All Together Is The Producer
The Producer helps find potential guests who fit into the theme and purpose of the show. Call them and start scheduling pre-show interviews with the host. Provide the director with an accurate list of names, titles, and contact information to be used for the captions on the show. Be sure each guest signs a release for your chapter to air the show. Prior to taping time, this person will distribute to guests some basic rules or methods for stage behavior as well as clothing and stage appearance information. They also should be the one to write Thank You notes and send the guest their copy of the show after editing. They need to openly communicate with the Producer, Director, Host, the TV station/studio, and guests.
They will need to have a clear understanding of the whole process to produce a show (which we will train you), or be willing to learn it. They must also have a good understanding of the desired outcome, appearance, and purpose of the show. They will be in charge of everything behind the scenes and will be the glue that holds it all together.
Many Hands Make Light Work…
Camera Operators. Typically we have three studio cameras to use. You will need that many volunteers for this position. They need to be willing to stand for an hour, stay quiet and take direction well. We provide training for our staff of volunteers.
Stage Manager. This person needs to have an exact idea of the set and be able to make sure every detail is in place prior to show time. They also will work with the guests and host to be sure the microphones are hidden, the make-up, hair, and clothing is in order, all cue cards are in order, and to provide water to those on the set. This person is key being the go-between for the production staff and the guests.
Our next taping is August 15th at 6:00 PM at Time Warner Studio located at: 1620 Normandy CT (1 block north of 16th & Old Cheney). Please contact Michael Merritt if you would like to join us!
